It’s been a busy summer filled with fun trips, long military trainings, happy homecomings, and BIG NEWS. No, I’m not pregnant. (Hehe, I know that’s what you were thinking.) But, life is about to change in a big way for us because…we’re moving!
We finally (5 weeks later than expected, but who’s counting?) got orders for our next assignment. We’re heading back to Oklahoma and…wait for it…we are so excited!
Anyone who knows me knows I love Charleston and never wanted to leave. Ever. And, honestly, in different life circumstances we really would never want to leave this area. But, life happens and priorities change. While we love this part of the country, we love being together as a family even more. Joint Base Charleston has been very good to James and to our family, and we are grateful to have had this time here. Truly. But, this is a busy base and James is gone A LOT.
After weighing our different options and making several pro/con lists and drinking a lot of wine, we feel in our hearts that Oklahoma is the best fit for our family’s next chapter. James will get to be home more and we’ll be together as a family more. That is our number one priority. So, a few months ago we requested this assignment and we finally got our orders last week. WooHoo!
The next few months will be crazy (Is moving ever not stressful?) and we’ll be homeless for about a month (Because if you aren’t homeless for at least a little while, you’re doing something wrong.), but the end result will be totally worth it.
I plan to blog all about our move and our journey, as well as everything we have to look forward to in Oklahoma. (Did I mention we’re building a house?). So stay tuned!
